GETF used ResourceSaver to design and prototype the web site for WaterLeaders (www.waterleaders.org).
WaterLeaders is a non-profit international foundation dedicated to delivering clean drinking water to the globe, one village at a time. WaterLeaders will achieve this mission by working with national and international leaders to deliver sustainable water purification technologies coupled with sanitation and hygiene training, to communities in need. Their goal is to create a safe water generation in which young people around the world not only have a chance to survive, but also to be leaders who know the value of healthy economic development and human dignity.
Core Principles
Ken Behring created WaterLeaders with the following core principles in mind:
- WaterLeaders is a non-profit, non-partisan international foundation dedicated to delivering sustainable, comprehensive, safe water technologies throughout the globe, one village at a time.
- WaterLeaders will apply the most appropriate technology and sound public health principles in cooperation within existing health and development frameworks and global initiatives.
- WaterLeaders will collaborate with and strengthen existing international partnerships to reduce deaths in children and other vulnerable populations through the provision of improved water sources, basic sanitation and hygiene education.
- WaterLeaders will act as a much-needed catalyst for the international community to decrease by half the proportion of people without access to safe drinking water and basic sanitation in the next ten years (U.N. Millennium Development Goal).
